While mortuary archaeology is my focus and my passion, I am also deeply involved in GradHacker. GradHacker is a collaborative blog that was started by Alex Galarza and myself. Our authors include graduate students from a variety of programs and institutions who write about ‘hacking’ grad school. I mean ‘hack’ in the sense to make things easier. This means stories about new tech tools to help organize your teaching, solutions for dealing with tough committee members, how to use social media to improve your identity, and even a reent post on advice for dating in grad school. GradHacker launched in June 2011, and in November 2011 we joined Inside Higher Ed’s Blog U. You can read the blog here at IHE GradHacker.
MSU recently published a press statement about GradHacker, based on interviews by Alex and I. You can check out the full article here: How to “hack” grad school | MSU News
